Breastfeeding in Aotearoa New Zealand: A Journey of Care, Choice, and Support
For many new mums, breastfeeding is one of the most intimate and sometimes challenging parts of motherhood. In New Zealand and Australia, countless parents begin this journey full of hope but often face unexpected hurdles—from medical complications and early births to latching issues and low supply.
At Tiny Bloom, we understand these challenges first-hand. That’s why our products aren’t just designed to be functional and beautiful—they’re designed with real-life mums in mind. From Bluetooth-enabled wearable breast pumps to reusable milk collectors and milk storage solutions, every item in our range is crafted to make feeding easier, more comfortable, and less stressful.
But beyond our products, we’re proud to say that our mission is deeply rooted in community, care, and connection. One of the most impactful ways we support families is through our growing relationships with midwives and our involvement with the Little Miracles Trust.
Empowering Midwives & Their Mums
Midwives are the backbone of birthing care in Aotearoa and Australia. They guide, nurture, and advocate for mums through pregnancy, birth, and those fragile first weeks.
At Tiny Bloom, we believe that when midwives are supported, mums are empowered. That’s why we have donated our Bluetooth breast pumps to midwives across both countries—so they can recommend, demonstrate, and use our products with confidence. These pumps serve as tools for education and empowerment, giving midwives hands-on ways to support their clients through breastfeeding.
In addition, we’ve provided exclusive discount codes for midwives to pass on to their clients. This ensures that high-quality, hospital-grade, wearable pumps are accessible to all mothers—no matter their circumstances.
If you’re a midwife who would love to get involved, we’d love to hear from you! Email us at support@tinybloom.co.nz to learn how we can support you and your māmās.
Supporting the Smallest Fighters: Our Partnership with The Little Miracles Trust
Every year in New Zealand, more than 5,000 babies are born prematurely or require special care. Some arrive as early as 23 weeks gestation. For their families, what should be a joyful time becomes one filled with fear, worry, and an overwhelming need for support.
We’re honoured to partner with The Little Miracles Trust, an organisation that works to make these difficult starts to life a little easier. Through this partnership:
- We supply our Tiny Bloom Pumps at a discounted rate, allowing the Trust to offer them affordably while still supporting their incredible work.
- These pumps go directly to mums in hospital NICUs and SCBUs, many of whom are expressing for babies in incubators.
- We have also donated pumps directly to hospital units, so that lactation consultants and nurses can give mums the chance to trial the pump on-site, ensuring it’s the right fit for them before purchasing.
These aren’t just products—they’re bridges. They offer mothers the comfort of choice, the dignity of control, and the ability to nourish their babies during one of the most vulnerable periods of life.
Why It Matters
Our mission at Tiny Bloom is simple: to make motherhood easier, calmer, and more supported.
Through our trusted partnerships with midwives and our work with the Little Miracles Trust, we’re doing more than just selling breast pumps. We’re walking alongside mums—from their first pump session in a hospital chair to their late-night feeds at home.
We’re here for the NICU māmās, the first-time mums, the midwives on the frontline, and everyone in between.
If you’re part of the maternity community and want to be involved, we’d love to collaborate. Let’s continue to create real impact, together.
